Museum Macan - Yayoi Kusama Life is the Heart of a Rainbow

Thursday, May 17, 2018

Hello loves, Today I visited the newly opened Museum Macan with their newest installations from Yayoi Kusama Life is the Heart of a Rainbow. In this post I'll share some of the useful tips you might need to know before visiting. I am personally a fan of arts, I find them so amusing and therapeutic at the same time. So once I heard Museum Macan will be bringing this art installations of Yayoi Kusama Life is the Heart of a Rainbow, I really can't wait to visit. I've been waiting for the day since a month ago and the idea of getting to experience the whole gallery still excites me till today.
This is the first large scale exhibition of  Yayoi Kusama's work presenting over 130 works of her in about almost 70 years of her artistic journey in Indonesia. I'm glad that Museum Macan decides to bring them here because I was so sad to miss the ones in Singapore :") but now I'm happy!  Yayoi Kusama's work is a combination of paintings, sculptures, installations and performances but all have one thing in common that is DOTS! She's been dubbed as the "Princess of polka dots" due to all her distinct art works.
Mark the dates:) If you're an art enthusiasts, Don't miss out !
First let me give you a little sneak peek of the fun I had today at the museum. I'm so happy I get to write something I'm excited about, its been very long since I have time to write for leisure or topics non related to work.. I hope you find this post useful and enjoy!

My Museum Date :) Check her out - Prisca Angelina !

Tips for Yayoi Kusama exhibition at Museum Macan

- If you purchase your tickets online you can use your E-tickets:) Go green & save trees guys! no need to print them

- Visit during weekdays instead of weekend because weekend will definitely be packed. If possible go at day time instead of evening (you'll have less time to explore the whole gallery, bear in mind that you'll have to queue for some of the installations).
.
-Last entry 7 PM
.
- Please note that some installations close at 7 PM
.
- No Sitting at any installations isn't allowed (they're very strict on this one)
.
- No cameras allowed only phone camera ( this includes mirrorless cameras too)
.
- No large bags
.
- No food & Drinks inside the museum
.
- Move swiftly and know your poses cause you don't have time to think of the perfect shot
.
- Several Installations are limited to certain time limit
.
- So if you want extra time you'll need to start queuing again to get the more shots
.
- Wear comfortable footwear cause the museum is pretty big and you might need to queue for quite sometimes.
.
- Take time to enjoy the art work and read the story behind it
.
- As much as its important to document and share on your social medias live the moment and let yourself enjoy and appreciate the arts.
